5, 10 and 15 Year Survival for Prostate Cancer:

A recent review of death rates of men who were diagnosed with prostate cancer and with men who did not ever have prostate cancer revealed that the 5 and 10 year survival rates where the same with or without prostate cancer.
If prostate cancer is found while it is still located in the prostate or the immediate surrounding tissue, which is the case in 90% of all prostate cancers that are diagnosed then the 5 year survival rate is almost 100%. The key factor with this statistics compounds the importance for early screening and catching prostate cancer in its earliest stages before it has a chance to spread.
